The 7 new wonders of the world

I know I have just put up a bucket list, but I do feel I should see the 7 new wonders of the world at some pint in my life as well. Maybe I can call that my sub bucket list. I have already seen 3 out of the 7 so that qualifies for a good start, or a good excuse to travel and see the rest. Just to excuse myself I would like to point out that some of the pictures are a little bit old, i took them before I got a digital camera so I had to take a picture of the picture in order to get them in this post.

1. Taj Mahal, Agra India

I went to India in 2007 and one of the things I got to experience on my trip to New Delhi and Ludhiana was a trip to Agra to see the Red Fort and Taj Mahal.

2. Christ the Redeemer,  Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

I have never been to Brazil so I guess this is on my to do list when it comes to the 7 new wonders of the world. I know it should have been on my bucket list to begin with!

3. Great Wall of China.

As you might see from the pictures it is some time since I was there. It was actually back in 2001 when my school class from Treider (travel management) went for a whole week to discover Beijing. We saw all the sites and loads of amazing things and places, I even saw Mao! However, I'm so happy I've been there and experienced the Great Wall and all the other stuff and I remember it like it was last year. Read my post on Beijing here.

4. Petra, Jordan.

This ancient city is a historical and archaeological city and it is also know as Rose City due to the color of the stone. I haven't been here so I guess it is time to plan a trip to this beautiful place.

5. Coloseum, Rome Italy.

Now here I've been and I had a digital camera at the time, so the picture quality is not that bad at all. Rome is a city everybody have to experience at least once in their lifetime. It has everything, and then I mean everything. Read my post on Rome here

6. Chichen Itza, Mexico

I have been in Mexico, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel however, I never went to this city which was build by the Maya people. It is located in the Mexican state of Yucatán.

7. Machu Piccu, Peru

Spectacular 15th-century Inca site located 2,430 meters above the sea in the Cusco Region in Peru. Now this is a place I've always wanted to visit and I'm a definitely going to walk the Inca path to get up there (you can take a bus as well).

So when am I going to get started on finishing this little project?

  2. Det hadde vært fantastisk å se alle disse stedene! Synes spesielt at Petra og den kinesiske mur virker utrolig spennende! Har bare besøkt Machu Picchu og Jesus-statuen i Rio tidligere.

  3. Rome for sure is on my list, and The Christ Redeemer ...except Brazil has gotten the not safe to travel stamp it seems, so maybe...not? Italy is high on my list of places to travel, have you been there? Awesome pictures by the way. Gonna fill my coffee cup and hit one more of your blog posts, then do some walking through others.

    1. I have to go to Brazil some day, but as you say it has gotten the not safe stamp so when I go there there are some precautions that I will have to consider. Like don't wear jewellery, kind of expect to be mugged at some stage and so on. Rome is really great, I have only been there once but would love to go back. I have also been to Venice and Verona on a football tournament when I was 16, so don't remember much of that, years ago! I have also been to Milan, and in June this year I am going to the Tuscany region for a wedding so we are going to spend two weeks there and travel around a little bit. Really looking forward to that :)

    1. I do agree with you on the fact about Rome and Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal has been ruined by tourism, that is actually very sad because it is a wonderful place, building, castle, mausoleum, with a great story :)
